Local counter-culture art collective Strangeways – first group show celebrating the release of  Strangeways #1

The Strangeways group show will feature artists from the STRANGEWAYS magazine. Located at the Nice Look gallery within Wynwood Walls, this event will also act as the release of the new  STRANGEWAYS  magazine. Featured artists include Kubiat Nnamdie, Johnny Laderer, Augor, Dana Goldstein, Emmett Moore, Nick Lobo, Monica Uszerowicz. The show will also present smaller works from Steve Saiz, Jessy Nite, Brian Butler, Ahol, Denise Ekendahl, Patti Hernandez, Jill Weisberg and John Vale, with a special performance from South Florida local band Mothersky.

The group show brings together the up and coming artists featured in the magazine, showcasing their most recent work. The work ranges from photography to sculpture, site specific installations, drawings and prints. STRANGEWAYS was founded in Miami on July of 2011 as a limited edition 4×6” black and white zine, growing from 50 copies to 150 at the end of its 2 volumes. The First volumes of the zine where based on changing themes that artists created works for. STRANGEWAYS is  now up to its 18th issue and taking a new direction.

ABOUT STRANGEWAYS: Strangeways is more than a magazine, its a collective. We host/ arrange special events and parties tying together music and art while incorporating certain themes from within our publication.
